Welcome to UNNIDO!

Hi! Welcome to my website. I have over 15 years of experience doing clinical work and supporting individuals who struggle with different issues or symptoms that come up when there is unresolved trauma or unprocessed grief in their lives. This can look like anxiety, depression, dissatisfaction, lack of motivation, dullness, purposelessness, lack of vitality etc. There is a very subtle form of disconnection from our most 'real' or 'authentic' self, that comes from unresolved past trauma. Trauma causes us to shrink, and lose connection with who we really are, with our life force. It can cause us to feel disconnected from what we are doing, and from our actions, from others, etc. Basically we don't feel fulfilled, we think things are ok yet deep inside we know something is wrong or missing.

Engaging in therapy entails looking deeply into ourselves and exploring our inner landscape which is often challenging but so rewarding.

I am a Yoga teacher and incorporate Yoguic philosophy was well as Buddhist Psychology principles in my personal life which inevitably inform my work with clients in different ways. I am a somatic based trauma and attachment specialist, and I incorporate mindfulness, and other modalities in my practice, in order to help clients learn how to regulate their nervous system, and increase their ability to process their emotions and experience without needing to dissociate, distract or numb themselves. I also offer Acu-Detox as an adjunct to my work for those who struggle with PTSD, acute anxiety, addictions, and insomnia.

I offer Individual and couples counseling

 in Spanish and English

I have called my practice UNNIDO, which means 'a nest' in Spanish. A place were you can grow wings and fly. We fly when we are able to be ourselves. When we don't feel we have to apologize for who we are, or justify our existence. We FLY when we can express fully, speak our minds, love with our hearts. When we claim our voice, when we honor our limitations, and when we bow in reverence to the great mystery of life on this earth.

Seeking therapy is a big step, and it's NOT EASY. But if you are here it means you are ready to embrace more of who you really are and want to find answers inside of you, because you are tired of looking outside. You are READY to do something different, feel something different and raise to the occasion, of being fully human. It is hard to seek help when we are struggling. We live in a culture where we are expected to take care of everything on our own and feel good all the time. If you feel you want to hide when you are struggling, you are NOT alone. If you you think you SHOULD be able to get over things alone, you are wasting your precious life force. Because we are wired to bond, support each other and grow together.

***For sensitive folks: I love working with sensitive humans who want to feel empowered and strong in all the amazing ways in which only sensitivity allows us to.
